Amid rising concerns over national security following the recent terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday reaffirmed India’s unwavering resolve against terrorism. Addressing a public gathering in Lakhimpur Kheri, the CM declared that “New India will never bow to threats or allow terror to thrive.”
“We don’t provoke anyone, but if provoked, we respond with strength and clarity,” Adityanath stated, underscoring the government’s zero-tolerance policy against any attempt to destabilize the country’s peace and unity.
A Nation in Mourning and Resolve
His remarks come in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 innocent lives and left several injured. The attack, believed to be orchestrated by cross-border militants, has not only ignited national grief but also prompted swift and bold measures from the Indian government.
In a deeply emotional moment during his address, CM Yogi extended his condolences to the bereaved families.
“No faith, no belief system justifies the killing of innocents. Such acts have no place in a civilized society,” he said.
Following the attack, India has taken a series of decisive steps — most notably, putting the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan on hold. Pakistan, in retaliation, closed its airspace to Indian aircraft, signaling a sharp escalation in diplomatic tensions.
Yet, the tone from the Indian leadership remains clear: India will act to protect its sovereignty, with the support of its people and its institutions.
The Larger Vision: Security, Development, and Welfare
Beyond just a response to a singular incident, CM Yogi highlighted that the Modi government’s broader vision is built on three pillars: security, service, and welfare. He lauded the Centre’s ongoing developmental programs, especially those aimed at reaching the last person in the line — from village households to border regions.
“Every Indian, no matter where they live or what they believe, must feel protected, heard, and valued. That is the promise of this government,” he emphasized.
Unity as the Backbone of New India
As tensions rise and the global gaze turns to the subcontinent, the Chief Minister called for national unity, urging citizens to stand together in the face of adversity.
“The new India is built on unity, strength, and patriotism. No force—external or internal—that seeks to divide us will succeed,” Yogi Adityanath declared to applause.
A Call to Collective Responsibility
The speech resonated with many as more than just a political statement—it was a call to collective national consciousness. As India processes the grief of the Pahalgam attack and gears up for heightened security challenges, leaders like Yogi Adityanath are reaffirming a message the country is now echoing in unison: Terror will not be tolerated. Peace, unity, and justice will prevail.
