Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar paid tribute to the contributions of Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary.

On January 23, 2025, leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar paid tribute to the contributions of Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. Known as “Netaji,” this day is observed as Parakram Divas (Day of Valor) to honor his significant role in India’s freedom struggle. Prime Minister Modi highlighted that Bose’s contribution to India’s fight for independence is unparalleled, calling him a symbol of courage and determination. He emphasized that Netaji’s vision continues to inspire the nation’s progress today.

Bose, born in 1897, was a dynamic and influential figure in Indian politics. He became president of the Indian National Congress but later disagreed with the party’s approach, advocating for a more aggressive and militaristic stance against British rule, which eventually led him to form the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army).

Vice President Dhankhar, in a message posted on X, praised Bose’s unwavering commitment to India’s independence and his leadership in forming the Azad Hind Fauj. Dhankhar noted that Netaji’s immense courage and patriotism continue to inspire generations of Indians.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also honored Bose’s legacy on his birth anniversary, recognizing how his leadership revitalized the Indian independence movement.

This annual observance not only recalls Bose’s pivotal role in the struggle for freedom but also reminds the nation of the unyielding spirit of selflessness and dedication to the motherland that he personified.
