Bollywood star Nushrratt Bharuccha recently addressed online trolling she faced after visiting the revered Kedarnath temple. Known for films like Pyaar Ka Punchnama and Chhorii, the actress spoke openly about her spiritual journey, emphasizing her deep connection to Lord Shiva and her inclusive approach to faith.
In response to the criticism, Nushrratt explained that her visit to Kedarnath was deeply personal. While she practices Islam, she finds peace in Shiva’s divine presence. “I practice Islam, but Shiva gives me relief,” she said, noting that she has also visited Vaishno Devi and feels drawn to various forms of divinity. “I felt God called me there,” she added, reflecting on her pilgrimage.
Raised in a liberal household, Nushrratt credited her parents for encouraging her to embrace diverse religious practices. She regularly prays namaz, visits churches, and frequents temples, embodying a harmonious blend of faiths. However, her temple visit sparked backlash from some social media users who questioned her actions.
Unfazed by the negativity, Nushrratt stood firm, focusing on the tranquility her faith brings. Her response has resonated with fans, who admire her for advocating tolerance and personal freedom in spirituality.
This isn’t the first time Nushrratt has faced online scrutiny. She previously dealt with trolling over her film Janhit Mein Jaari, which promoted safe sex, and an incident at a fashion show. Each time, she has responded with grace, calling for respectful dialogue.
Nushrratt’s experience underscores the need for understanding and respect for individual beliefs in today’s connected yet divided world.
