“Mastermind of Reasi Attack, LeT Terrorist Abu Qatal Sindhi, Killed in Pakistan”

A notorious terrorist linked to multiple attacks in India has been eliminated in Pakistan. Abu Qatal Sindhi, a key member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and a close associate of the group’s chief Hafiz Saeed, was killed by unknown assailants in the Jhelum district on the night of March 14, 2025. Sindhi was the mastermind behind the deadly attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir, and had been a prime target on India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) most-wanted list.

The Reasi attack, which took place on June 9, 2024, targeted devotees returning from the Shiv-Khori temple, resulting in significant loss of life. Sindhi was identified as the key planner of this assault. Additionally, the NIA had named him the primary accused in a separate attack on January 1, 2023, in Dhangri village, Rajouri district, where seven civilians were killed. According to the agency’s chargesheet, Sindhi, operating from Pakistan, orchestrated these attacks by recruiting and directing terrorists to execute his plans.

Reports indicate that Sindhi was gunned down around 8 PM in a mysterious operation, though no group has claimed responsibility for his death. This incident adds to a growing list of India-linked terrorists meeting their end in Pakistan under unclear circumstances. Over the past couple of years, several high-profile militants, including LeT’s Riyaz Ahmed alias Abu Qasim, Bashir Ahmad Peer, and Hizbul Mujahideen’s Rafiq Naiku, have been neutralized in various Pakistani cities like Karachi and Islamabad.

Indian security agencies, including the military, had been closely tracking Sindhi due to his involvement in multiple terror incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. His elimination marks another blow to anti-India terror networks operating from across the border. The recent spate of such killings in Pakistan has raised questions, though no official statements have clarified the circumstances surrounding these events.
