In a creative AI-generated video, the police illustrated how performing stunts on the road is dangerous and emphasized the importance of following traffic rules. Ghibli, the famous animation studio, has seen a rise in popularity on social media, with users creating and sharing their own Ghibli-inspired photos. Taking advantage of this trend, Bengaluru police used the Ghibli theme to warn rule-breakers.
On Sunday, Bengaluru police shared a post on the social media platform X featuring an AI-generated video along with a message that breaking the law, even in Ghibli’s fantasy world, is dangerous. The clip shows a rider violating traffic laws while riding a two-wheeler, only to be apprehended by the police and taken to the station, where legal action is taken. The caption read, “In Ghibli’s whimsical world, wheeling is no fantasy—it’s dangerous and punishable. For your safety and others, follow traffic rules. Ride responsibly!”
The police had used a real photo of an individual who had been caught performing a stunt on the road, which garnered a lot of attention. People on social media applauded the creativity of the police’s approach. One user, however, questioned the authorities about those who openly break the law and drive recklessly, disregarding traffic rules. Another commented, “Please impose heavy fines on those who don’t follow the rules and endanger others’ lives.” Someone else humorously added, “Welcome to Ghibli’s world!”
In a related note, OpenAI’s ChatGPT faced a temporary glitch after users flooded the platform to create their own Ghibli avatars. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman shared that while it’s amusing to see people enjoying Ghibli-themed images, the surge caused some GPU issues. He assured users that the team was working on resolving it and that the system would be updated soon.
